I am Duygu Ercan Mörel.
From London’s financial hubs to the frontlines of global development, I’ve spent nearly two decades bridging worlds, weaving collaborations that turn capital into impact for children, communities, and our planet.
My journey is woven with a steadfast belief in wholeness, partnership, and impact. Over the years, through experience in international finance, public policy, the private sector, and global development, I have defined my mission as building sustainable, multi-stakeholder models that address systemic social challenges.
My professional career began in London’s financial sector. During the turbulence of the 2007 global financial crisis, I developed analytical and systems-thinking skills through risk analysis in the capital markets - skills that later became invaluable as I navigated complex, human-centered systems.
I then joined the public sector in Türkiye, contributing to shaping the country’s trade policies. Through fieldwork, I studied sectoral needs in depth and supported the development of national strategy documents and policies, accordingly, working in close cooperation with the private sector.

Every project, to me, is like a tapestry woven with diverse colors and textures, creating powerful collective impact.

A turning point came when I was appointed as the country advisor to one of the world’s largest philanthropic foundations. The mission was both challenging and inspiring: to navigate complex systems and align diverse actors around a shared vision for multilateralism. Each step required foresight and precision, like moving pieces on a chessboard toward a collective goal.
As a result, multilateralism gained visibility in public discourse, and international resources were mobilized for social projects in and beyond Türkiye. This was a pivotal experience, teaching me the value of building bridges across complex, multi-layered structures, overcoming challenges, and creating real impact.
This success brought me fully into the field of social impact. As country representative of a global impact organization, I led the design of innovative partnership platforms that brought together government, private sector, and civil society in pursuit of the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
At the heart of this journey lies a single passion: bringing together perspectives, resources, and capabilities to build holistic structures around a shared purpose. I see myself as an architect of this process: a connector who reveals the unseen and activates potential.
Today, I manage private sector partnerships at UNICEF. My goal is to leverage the power of technology, art, entrepreneurship, and innovation to develop impactful solutions for children and young people, while contributing to large-scale systemic programmes.
My focus is not only on mobilizing funds, but also on combining diverse capacities of stakeholders to multiply impact.
The most important lesson I have learned along this journey is that the process itself carries meaning and value beyond the outcome. Each collaboration comes with its own challenges and unique beauty; my approach is to carefully and flexibly guide every step of this journey.
